Los Azules is a 100% owned advanced-stage porphyry copper exploration project located in the cordilleran region of San Juan Province, Argentina, near the border with Chile. During the first 10 years of operations Los Azules was anticipated to be the world''s 25th largest copper producer and a lowest cost quartile producer.
If Arizona was a country, it would be the second largest producer of copper in the entire world. Only Chile produces more copper than Arizona. The star on the Arizona state flag is copper-colored because the red metal is so important to the state’s economy. A miner is even depicted on the state seal.
Copper Mountain Mining Corporation is installing a secondary crusher at its Copper Mountain Mine near Princeton in southern B.C. The machine, which will be the largest cone crusher in Western Canada, will replace three smaller, portable crushers that have been supplementing the mine''s primary crusher.
The two deposits show typical profile of a secondary enrichment process: a leach cap, a copper oxides zone, a secondary enrichment blanket and a primary sulphide core. To the west of Rosario is located Capella, which is an exotic copper deposit with copper oxides associated to gravels, probably derived from the Rosario porphyry.
Los Bronces produced 221,800t of copper in 2011 and 221,400t in 2010. Copper cathode comprised 38,400t, while copper in sulphate accounted for 4,600t. Copper concentrate production during 2011 was 178,800t. The mine also produced 948t of molybdenum concentrate during the year.
Copper and molybdenum production from Los Pelambres. The mine produced 343,800t of copper concentrate and 10,500t of molybdenum concentrate in 2017. It is forecasted to produce between 345,000t and 355,000t of copper, 60,000t-70,000t of gold, and10,000t-11,000t of molybdenum in 2018. Infrastructure facilities at Los Pelambres
Radomiro Tomic was the first mine to have been entirely developed by the Chilean state copper-mining company, Codelco. Located at 3,000m above sea level in the Atacama Desert of northern Chile, the mining and hydrometallurgical operation is 4km from the Chuquicamata mine and smelter. Development was approved in 1995, started in 1996 and was
The primary crusher is a gyratory crusher that reduces the size to 95% below 5 inches. The primary crusher has an availability of 90%. Then, the fragments are treated with a sulphuric acid solution in order to facilitate the chemical reaction in leaching. Next, the piles are sprayed with a sulphuric acid-water solution to produce the copper
The sulphide circuit consists of a primary crusher, a secondary crusher and three tertiary crushers in a closed circuit, for the production of a product approaching 98 percent smaller than ¼” (6.4 mm) to supply the ball mills.

Later this year Codelco plans to commission the $1.4 billion Andina transfer project, which will relocate the primary crusher plant in order to expand the open pit operation at the division. However, high copper prices this year have led to union demands for a greater participation in bumper profits at mining companies.
Energy Use in the Copper Industry All aspects of copper production require energy, whether i n the form of electricity, explosives, or hydrocarbon fuels (diesel, gasoline, natural gas, fuel oil, coal, coke), or as the energy equivalent of materials consumed (e. g., chemicals and steel grinding media). In 1977, the primary copper in-

The term “primary crusher,” by definition, might embrace any type and size of crushing machine. The term implies that at least two stages of crushing are involved, but in many cases the machine which performs the function of initial crusher is the only crusher in the plant. The factors influencing the selection of a crusher for this service
Metso Outotec has signed an agreement with Chilean mining operator Codelco to design and supply a Foresight semi-mobile primary gyratory (SMPG) crushing plant for the Radomiro Tomic mine.
